What is Friends of Childhood Cancer?
Friends of Childhood Cancer is a nonprofit group started by John Pavlik II (Owner of Xtra Innings Sports Bar & Grille located in West Deer). No child or family should ever have to endure such a terrible disease so Friends of Childhood Cancer seeks to raise funds for families affected by childhood cancer and for research to find a cure. Our mission is to hold an annual golf outing to raise funds for this special cause.
The money raised will be donated to two local families that are fighting this disease. This year’s funds will go towards Marco Mangieri and Noah Latronica. The funds will go towards Marco’s fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia that he was diagnosed with just before his third birthday and Noah’s fight against Ependymoma, a rare form of brain cancer, that he was diagnosed with at 6-months-old. Both children are fighting hard and showing cancer who is boss!
